Hardware and Controller Design
The two features that every Series X game supports the Xbox Wireless controller and the console itself. Microsoft has a very solid track record in gamepad design and the new wireless controller is no exception. It is essentially an Xbox One controller with a nod to the classy design in the D-Pas, an additional extra share button, and also a flat face.
On the other hand, the Series X looks nothing like Microsoft’s previous consoles. It looks like a rectangular black prism that stands at just under a tall, wide and deep. It is highlighted in green at the top and the glowing Xbox logo on the upper left corner.
Load Times
The most important and needed improvement with the existing games on the Xbox Series X is the bulk change to the load times. There are many load drops in almost every game in the series like Sea of Thieves, Warframe, and Destiny 2 have their load time cut by up to a minute or more on the series.
A quick comparison can be done on the load times of the games in Xbox Series X and Xbox series One X, in the game warzone, Xbox One X took about 21 seconds where Xbox Series X loads it in 16 seconds. There is also a huger load time difference in the game, Sea of Thieves, the load time reduced from 1 minute 21 seconds to just 20 seconds.
When the load times of Warframe and Sea Of Thieves are compared, both the games are equally impressive, with their load times now. It is quite a huge improvement that any gamer would love to hear. It reduces the overall waiting game, just to start the initial phase of the game. Both the games have not been customized accordingly to the Xbox. It is simply done by Microsoft’s backward compatibility.
Game Performance
Apart from fast load times, the games also go much smoother. Destiny 2 is a great example of a game that was not properly played due to the weaker CPU and low HDD, which was the greatest drawback of Xbox One X. While Bungie has committed to enhancing the destiny 2 for the Xbox Series and PS5 with the feature of 60 fps support.
The console has improved the other parts of the Destiny 2 that were very slow on the previous Xbox One. While loading into the character it took some more time than the Xbox One X. But in the newer version, everything is instant and all these improvements, which are minor but they add up and make the game more enjoyable to play.
Other games such as Warframe and Sea of Thieves, were just other games which are also benefited from the CPU, SSD, and GPU to run the game more smoothly. The other benefit to the Xbox Series X and the next generation is that they were shifted from box 360 to Xbox One. In previous games, you can match only one player in a lot of games, leaving out friends who played on the Xbox 360. In every multiplayer game which has been tested on Series X, a person can able to join friends who were using an Xbox One and the match against other Xbox One players.
Quick Resume
The Xbox X offers a quick resume option that lets you swap between the games. But most people felt that it never really helped. The quick resume utilizes the SSD inside the series X to let you swap between multiple games freely. It takes around five seconds to resume the games where you left off and it made it very easy to swap between the games easily. Most of the games supported a quick resume but games like Sea of Thieves don’t work with the feature. These are the games that can’t quickly resume alive and evolving environment that changes every second.
The limit on the number of games that a person attempting to quickly resume will depend on the one which a person using. Even though this review is based completely on the preview unit but it still needs to be tested hen the product is launched completely.
Super-fast SSD
The superfast SSD will make use of having an SSD – a quick resume feature, which lets you resume the game immediately and continue with the multiple games, without the need to sit through the load screens.
At last
The experience after using the Xbox Series X feels like a person just has upgraded the features of the i-phone which is smoother and faster when compared to the old Xbox. Even though the games are not optimized to the console, still it plays better. So it feels very exciting to dig out the complete usage of the Xbox. Like other generations, the game consoles will take a long time to understand how the advancement of the hardware will do. People are waiting to see how the ray tracing gets incorporated in the next generation of games and which are going to provide the amazing 120fps at a 4K solution as Xbox series X provides.
