Amazon Prime Users to Get Some Additional Prime Offerings
|The Seattle behemoth, in its attempt to gear up for Amazon Prime membership number in India, might get some additional Prime offerings. After having integrated its voice Assistant Alexa, Amazon may integrate some of its offerings such as Amazon Music and ecommerce platform with Prime Video. Not just this, one can also avail various exciting deals from Amazon prime sale.
As shared by sources aware of the latest developments, Amazon might look to integrate some of its products on its ecommerce platforms for in-app purchases through secondary screens on its video content. Here, a viewer will be able to purchase clothes that a character is wearing on a show they are viewing from Amazon India’s store.
Vijay Subramanian, content head for Amazon Prime Video India has shared the possibility of bringing in the new offer in the long term. Amazon plans to make everything convenient for its customers, right from entertainment to shopping. “We are finding out ways to innovate, for instance, the latest show Comicstaan has a skill built into Alexa, where users can listen to a joke from a comedian on request,” informed Subramanian.
Amazon Prime, which is said to have 10 million subscribers in India, might possibly generate revenue through advertisements on Prime Video platform. “It’s early to comment but these are some future possibilities,” Subramanian commented on advertisements.
Likewise Amazon may push its secondary screen feature, known as ‘X-Ray’, which provides the details on video content and other background details. “We are completely dedicated towards bringing X-Ray as Amazon wants to give its customers a memorable experience for deeper engagement,” added Subramanian. The features will be added constantly to the X-Ray and it would focus both on content and content creation.
Amazon Prime Video: More Offerings
Amazon India will soon release 10 original video series as a part of its Prime Video offerings. The original series, Comicstaan, which picked up pace earlier this year will have six launches. Comicstaan will see India’s leading stand-up comedians judging other upcoming stand-up comedians in a reality TV show format.
Amazon is rooting comedy to win the hearts of customers, simultaneously fighting the global video streaming player Netflix which is also bringing originals. Amazon Prime is also pushing content in five regional languages to fight the domestic player Hotstar. It has roped in Gandhi as the head of Prime Video India, formerly the head of Voot.

Amazon with its Prime subscription offers free and fast delivery to its customers shopping from its ecommerce platform has quickly grown its video streaming offerings as a free benefit. The membership also gives its free Music, discounts and a lot more bundled with Prime at yearly subscription of Rs. 999.
It is estimated that Amazon Prime had 5 million subscribers in 2017 which grew to 10 million this years has a high percentage of customers accessing video streaming service. The option of a monthly plan is likely to bring in new subscribers, who are being reluctant to commit a bigger amount to yearlong subscription. The e-commerce giant also plans a strong presence of Prime in tier-2 and tier-3 cities, as it has already made it to 400 cities and towns in India.
As shared by Subramanian, “India is a promising market for Amazon with video streaming being a bigger. The company would evaluate best choices and provide the right amount of resources.
